Patient Updates

COVID Vaccine updates can be found on our COVID Information page or the via yellow ribbon at the top of the page.

COVID Vaccination second dose - if you have had your first COVID vaccination, you will be contacted by the vaccination centre to arrange a date for your second dose.  Please be patient and do not ring the surgery as we cannot tell you when this appointment will be.  It is dependant on vaccine delivery so we do not know any more than you at present.  If you haven't been contacted and are eleven weeks after your first dose, then please do contact the surgery.  Before this, please wait to be called.

Eligible patients may have received a text message inviting them to book their COVID vaccination.  Please be reassured that this is genuine and click on the link to book.  The text will look like this.

Breast Screening - We have been advised that those of our patients that are eligible for breast screening will be invited in the next few weeks to contact Somerset Breast Screening Service to book an appointment.  We encourage eligible patients to make an appointment for this screening.

Long Term Condition Management

If you are unable to complete the on-line questionnaire please click on the link below to download a paper copy which you can print off and complete at home.  Please check your letter carefully as this will tell you which sections of the questionnaire you need to complete.  Most people do not have to complete all the sections so it is important to check your letter before you start.  When you have completed the questionnaire, please send it in the post to Axbridge Surgery.

Improved Access

Somerset has been chosen by NHS England to introduce a new scheme that will allow you to make an appointment to see a health professional in a GP practice outside the usual working hours of GP surgeries.  The scheme works by getting a gropu of GP practices together so that they can open up in turn at the new times.

The following surgeries are offering Improved Access to all patients in the North Sedgemoor Federation.  If you cannot access an appointment at your own surgery it is now possible to access available appointments at other surgeries in your area,  please ask at Reception:

  • Brent Area Medical Centre
  • Burnham and Berrow Medical Centre
  • Cheddar Medical Centre
  • Highbridge Medical Centre
