Axbridge and Wedmore Medical Practice

General News

August 2016

We are very pleased to announce that two new GP Partners have joined us:

Dr Joey McHugh:  She will be working with us on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Dr Lucy Matthews: She will be working with us on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Throughout August we are now able to provide Nurse and Health Care Assistant cover in Wedmore on the days where there is a shortage of GP presence due to routine holidays.   This has enabled us to keep the Wedmore Surgery open whereas we were expecting to have to temporarily close it.  In previous years we could cover an absent GP with locums, but given the current national shortage of GPs and locums we have had to optimise working on a safety basis.

Prescription requests may still be posted through the letterbox and will be processed within 48 hours as normal.
